Sharing of research facilities and equipment among local universities and other research institutions
Yamaguchi University cooperates with Yamaguchi prefectural Industrial Technology Institute in FY2011 to operate "Yamaguchi Innovation Promotion base" by " Programs for Construction of Regional Industry, Academia and Government Collaborative Research Base (JST)". We equip the test and research equipment and make it widely available not only to the university but also to local companies.
In this program, among the research facilities of these bases, the research subjects to be implemented in the "Regional Innovation Strategy Support Program" are mainly targeted. When the researchers (companies, universities, etc.) who participate in the research theme use the equipment in "Yamaguchi Innovation creation promotion base", we support them in their use of the equipment and accelerate research and development. For this support, we added one more "Technical Support Staff".
Equipment supported by the program
We supports researchers (companies, universities, etc.) participating in the research theme of the "Regional Innovation Strategy Support Program" by expanding shared equipment required for participating in research and development. Reservations of equipment are accepted on the web.
Existing Shared Equipment
- Transmission Electron Microscope（TEM）
- Thermal field emisson gun Scanning Electron Microscope（SEM）
- Focused lon Beam microscopy and micromachining（FIB)
- Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry system(GC-MS)
New Shared Equipment
- Precision lon Polishing System(PIPSTM)
"Yamaguchi Innovation Creation Promotion Center" has established research facilities in the life science field as well as the "environment and energy" field, and four support staff are active in addition to the "technical support staff" mentioned above. We are waiting for use of this equipment as well.
In addition, Yamaguchi prefectural Industrial Technology Institute has opened about 200 types of test and research equipment. When using it, staff in charge will show how to use and how to operate.
